It's in his blood...

This weekend Zach and Nick went Elk hunting. Their friend Cody got this elk. They brought it over to my parents to show it to Chandler, who thought it was pretty cool! At first he thought it was a horse and was saying "Yee Haw" as he was holding the horns. Then as he looked at the body parts, all spread around the truck, he asked Nick if he was going to fix it! And to top it all off Nick had him touch the Elks EYE! It was disgusting but because Chan is all boy it didn't seem to bother him. Considering hunting is a HUGE tradition in my family its probably good Chandler got to see this all first hand. I think I have gone hunting every year of my entire life, I took Hunters Safety at the ripe age of 12, and last year I even had a tag, although todd and Nick had to hike up the hill for the buck they saw beacuse I was to fat and pregnant to climb anywhere!! I love hunting and just being in the outdoors!( If you really know me you know I only go along for the Raspberry Filled powdered doughnuts and the treats!) I love this tradition and hope it is something I can continue with my boys as they get older!!

Hi Rikki! I got your comment on my blog. You're Lucas' little sister, right? I think I remember seeing you around every once in awhile. Anyway, about my blog. I change the backgrounds myself and I make my own headers using digi scrap paper. I wish I could expain how to change everything yourself, but it's a little complicated. The easiest thing for you to do is find a background that you recognize the scrap paper as one you can download or one you have. Then you make a header using a photo program or a scrap program. Then you can upload the header in your layouts part of blogger. It probably doesn't make much sense, but sorry! It's kind of hard to explain. If you try and get stuck, you can ask me questions! P.S. Your little family is adorable!

He is so daring. I don't think I could even get close to a dead deer now. Hey if you have any questions on designing your blog yourself let me know. It is really fun and easy too. click on loving these on my blog (right side) and click blog design. This site taught me everything and if you want to change the font I found another site.

Chandler is soo cute...Nick told me that he poked it in the eye...so gross! I was looking at the pictures Nick had taken and Chandler looked so old, it's crazy how fast they grow up.

Oh boy-- I made the mistake of opening your blog with Ty sitting on my lap. I don't know if anyone has told you yet, but when we were out running the other day we saw a dead deer on the side of the road. The questions have been non-stop ever since. Everytime we go down the road it gets brought up again. So you can imagine the questions I got from him on this post! Ty watched his first movie a couple weeks ago. "The Fox and the Hound" lets just say he got it. He started balling when the old lady takes the fox back to the forsest, and has not been to fawned of hunters since. We can't tell him when Ryker is going hunting because he doesn't understand why that is an ok thing to do. I didn't know you loved hunting so much. Looks like my husband married the wrong girl:) I think it's hilarious that Chandler just touched his eye. Cute picture's! Brooke

O man that is sick. He may have been slightly traumatized when nick couldn't put it back together.
Maybe I should hope for little girls in my future.

Rikki -

Thank you for the cute thank-you card you sent in the mail! You didn't have to do that. We enjoyed having you guys stay with us. I hope that you felt comfortable and "at home" because that's really important to me whenever I have guests over. I hope that I made you feel that way. If I didn't, tell me so that I can do a better job next time. :)

Oh, and let me know if you find a ring that you like 'cause we'd be happy to send you one.

I have more pictures of Brody & Chandler from last weekend that I'll be emailing to Todd. So, don't think that I forgot about ya.

Love,
Nat

Thanks so much for your comment. That meant so much and was so nice to hear the things you said. It's a hard time of year right now with the holidays and this baby coming and such, so I will take any words of comfort I can get! Especially because I've had some conversations with an old friend who is atheist and truly believes nothing. It is devastating to me. Anyway, Thank you so much you are so sweet! I do try to take comfort in what I know. Don't worry about last weekend, I totally understand. Things get busy and its hard to fit everything in. Next time. We will actually be in St. George a ton in November so maybe we can get together sometime. My little brother comes home from his mission in 2 weeks! -Take care-
